Tools for Lasting Relationships This carousel picture made me think of the ups and downs of every relationship ride. I am always looking for tips and help from successful couples who have a great friendship and lasting marriage. Today, I thought I would list a few tools that have been shared with me and that I am currently practicing to upgrade my marriage and other relationships. 1- Take 100% responsibility for your part in any situation.   When confronted with any problem practice this template for creating an environment of humility, love, and respect.  You can work this through in your mind or with another person. GETTING PAST THE PAIN of AFFLICTION

Do you ever feel overwhelmed in the trial you are currently facing? Alone, or don't know where to turn? As lonely as this feels, ironically it is nearly a universal experience. My life has been so blest in countless ways... and yet...the trials I am given seem to be increasing in equal intensity too. I find myself pondering a lot on how to learn and mostly survive beyond the pain. A few things that have stuck out to me that have really helped are: 1- This scriptural equation found in 1st Nephi verse 1. I've read this verse numerous times without giving it much thought. But today it really stuck out to me. Maybe, I 've added too much detail. But I truly feel like there is a reason this verse was placed at the very beginning of this exemplary text. The Best Books

I love a good book. They can provide valuable insights and new perspectives that change my life. Yet with so many to choose from I am always looking for the very best treasures. I added a link below to a few of my favorites with a personal rating and 1 sentence summary. Of course, my reasons for loving them change daily but a common theme of my favorites consist of books that impart knowledge and life lessons whether it be through plots of fiction or reality. If you have to cry, make them tears of happiness. T-thoughts E-emotions A-actions R-results This is an easy acronym to remember that thoughts affect our emotions which in turn affect our actions which lead ultimately to the results in our lives. QUESTION So are your results showing what you want? What can you do about it? ANSWER Change any of the above to change the cycle. Being aware of our thought patterns (inner conversations and images) is a great place to start. We all have numerous influences bombarding us with input and the beauty of that is each person gets to decide which thoughts they would like to keep or discard. NOT so easy for you? Borrow some healthier thoughts and images from others who already have the results that you want! Then say and imagine those affirmations to yourself until you believe them.
